Thanks for your interest in writing a guest post for Becoming Who You Are! I’m honoured you’re considering sharing your work here.
Guest posting is a great way to share your experience with the broader community, and expose your website to a wider audience. Posts published here will be shared with the Becoming Who You Are community, plus social media. Here are a few guidelines before you submit:
Length: please keep posts between 400 and 1,000 words.
Content: Please only submit original content that is unique to Becoming Who You Are. I love posts on personal growth that are relevant to the ethos of this site and balance personal insight with actionable steps. Great topics to write about include (but aren’t limited to) creating meaning and fulfillment in life, self-discovery, authenticity, boundaries, journaling, self-kindness and self-care. I don’t publish content related to religion, the law of attraction, politics, making money online, entrepreneurship or blogging.
Tone and style: The ideal tone is informal yet informative. Please focus on the value of your content rather than other factors like SEO. Reserve self-promotion for your bio only and don’t include links within the post text. Please also check your piece for grammar and spelling before submitting. As this is a blog, short paragraphs of 3-4 sentences are best.
Credit: Please submit a 2-3 sentence bio with your post, as well as links to your website, Facebook and Twitter account. This will appear at the end of your post on the site, and will be shared over Facebook and Twitter. I do not offer financial compensation for guest posting.
Submission: Please paste the content of your post into the body of your email (not an attachment) and include your bio, links to your website and up to two social media platforms, and a headshot (optional). I try to respond to all submissions within seven days. If you haven’t heard from me after a week, please send a quick follow-up. I read and respond to all submissions, however I’m not able to provide personalised feedback if I choose not to publish your post at this time.
By submitting your post, you give me permission to edit the title and content, and to potentially use the post (with credit) in a future compilation, product or ebook.
Please only submit if your blog is related to personal growth, creativity, or psychology (or is a personal blog). I do not accept posts promoting essay-writing services or unrelated industries.
If you have questions about any of the above or would like to submit a pitch before writing the whole post, feel free to email me at the address below.
